Uses for apple cider vinegar almost as a way of life for hundreds of generations have been made. These uses go way beyond its health benefits and cures.



The uses of apple cider vinegar can extend all around the house and garage too. Let's look at some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar.

Because apples are grown world wide and enjoyed by many, there maybe an element of truth in the saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”

This saying originally started as “To eat an apple before going to bed will make the doctor beg his bread” A bit more of a tongue twister!

Apples are packed with antioxidants, the can be eaten whole including the skin and if you were to plant the core with the seeds when finished you can grow more apple trees.

These trees rely almost solely on the fruit tree pollination efforts of our essential insects the honey bees.

Is it any wonder the combination of apple cider vinegar and honey have been used for centuries, even Hippocrates extolled their many virtues.

When I first started writing my website about the health benefits of honey my experiences laid with honey and Propolis……hmmm “What is Propolis?” which are laden with health given properties.

It was only much later that I discovered the uses for apple cider vinegar and honey.



Let’s start with the benefits of apple cider vinegar if we eat or drink it.

for Arthritis and Sore Muscles

It is believed and has certainly been written about in great detail, that a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar four times per day, usually taken with honey stirred into a glass of water will help to relieve the pain and also progressive symptoms of this painful condition arthritis.

Just about any natural cure for this condition will recommend that a process of eliminating certain food types will keep this condition at bay. It has been suggested that wheat, dairy and corn based foods should be avoided.

Sore muscles and stiffness is usually a culmination of excess acid crystals in the joints and deficiency in potassium. Apple cider vinegar will improve these symptoms by flushing out the acid crystals and improving your potassium levels. (Do Not Take this if you have High Potassium)

Yet another method for the use of apple cider vinegar is to soak some bandages with it, lightly wring them out and wrap the affected areas with them. This method is said to provide good relief.

for Cholesterol

Vinegar contains a vast amount of amnio acids, these help to neutralize harmful oxidised LDL cholesterol.

Using apple cider vinegar alongside really good fibre foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables and avoiding any processed types of food will lower your high cholesterol levels considerably.

This is a great beneficial way to eat for anyone and when included with the benefits of eating honey will almost certainly improve your health. Only ever eat if possible fresh foods.

If it has been processed it has been tampered with and although may taste nice it will do your body no good at all.

These also help our bodies hold on to the nutrients needed to keep us healthy and the bowels stimulated and moving in the way they should.

These conditions are often the cause of eating fat laden greasy foods using apple cider vinegar helps to break these down and is good as a detoxifier.

It is possible to buy “Pectate” in the form of “Kaopectate” in most drug stores; these are just forms of pectin which forms a protective lining to our intestines. It is a far healthier option for us to apple cider vinegar.

for Indigestion and Heartburn

Many people complain their indigestion and heartburn symptoms are due to excessive stomach acid. This is a very feasible train of thought, after all these conditions are often accompanied by a burning sensation.

However, it is often an underproduction of acid especially hydrochloric acid which is needed to enable our stomachs to digest our food.

Uses of apple cider vinegar have shown to stimulate this by stimulating our saliva which starts the digestion of food process and activating our necessary digestive fluids.

The uses of apple cider vinegar along with daily spoonfuls of honey can cleanse the liver and hold onto its amnio acid contents which are helpful to alleviating the feelings of depression and tiredness.

Apple cider vinegar has been highly regarded as a remedy for liver stagnation for centuries.

The enzymes and potassium also found in vinegar, if taken with a glass of honey water at bedtime, will help to induce a proper amount of sleep to stop you feeling so tired throughout the day.

for Headaches

Headaches are usually caused by an imbalance in our bodies particularly the liver, the kidneys and the gallbladder. Quite often it is noticed that urine which is usually acidic is more alkaline when a headache strikes.

Apart from drinking your apple cider vinegar regularly which should help, you can actually use apple cider vinegar as an inhalant. I don’t mean by sniffing it!

Pour a couple of spoonfuls into a bowl of steaming hot water, hold your face over the bowl and cover both with a towel. Inhale these vapours for a while then go and lie down. Results have been quite positive with relief found after around half an hour.

The pH of the vaginal environment is usually the first symptom of these yeast conditions, What is a yeast infection?. Good results have been known by using vinegar and water as a vaginal wash or douche.

Dissolve two tablespoons of vinegar to a quart of warm water and apply this twice a day. This should quickly clear this unpleasant condition for you. This can also be used as a preventative precaution if this is something you suffer from frequently.

These conditions are often bought on by the use of chemical antibiotics, sometimes these are dished out to us far too frequently and unnecessarily. The medical benefits of honey are sometimes all that are needed.

for Diabetes

Its a very scary thought when we are told to expect a 50% increase in Diabetes over the next 25 years or so. There is always lots of ongoing research into this desease and comforting to know that this research concentrates on prevention as well as cure.

The American Diabetes Assocciation has conducted much research with very good results shown with the use of vinegar showing this improves Insulin sensitivity for those who suffer with Type 2 diabetes. Ostprandial fluxes in insulin were shown to be significantly reduced by vinegar in a controlled experiment. It is highly recommended by me to read what they have to say at Care.diabetesjournals.org

I have written about most of the popular uses for apple cider vinegar which many claim to work and of course with anything written there will always be sceptics.

However, the benefits of apple cider vinegar have been used successfully for a variety of health and medical complaints and many writers have discovered them worth writing about..

Personally I believe these ingredients to be extremely beneficial when used alongside honey although this is not always required. During my research I cam across another website who has vast amounts of other interesting information about the uses for apple cider vinegar.
