My Dad Raised Bees and Cured his Arthritis with Bee Sting Treatment

by Joseph Hatch
(MA)

My dad raised bees and cured his arthritis with bee sting therapy.

Sometimes he would bring them into an elementary school and teach the youngsters about bees. He would amaze them by picking up handfuls of them and then making himself a bee-beard.

What stands out most in my mind is how he would sting himself. He told me that he once read an account about an old country doctor.

This doctor who was crippled up was riding down a country road in his horse and buggy. Somehow or other the horse got spooked and the doctor was thrown from the carriage.

The unfortunate doctor rolled down the hill and landed on a bee hive and suffered numerous stings. He was soon discovered and carried home to bed.

The next morning he found that he was no longer crippled up and could move about freely. The doctor attributed this to the bee stings.

My dad who was a mason suffered from bursitis and arthritis. He would keep a jar of bees in the kitchen and in the morning set them down before him.

He would move his arms and shoulders around and where he felt soreness he would mark it with a small x with an ink pen. He would also do this to his wrist and fingers.

When he was finished he would get a pair of tweezers open the jar enough to grab a bee around the abdomen and then have the be sting where he marked the x.

He swore that this alleviated the pain. He told others about this and often strangers would show up at the door and he would retell the story about the country doctor.

He would also tell the story of a friend of his whose bedroom was upstairs. This man had great difficulty going up and down the stairs at night. Hearing my dad's story he decided to give the bee stings a try.

Not long after he said he was much improved and would regularly come over to get some bees from my father.

When people would show up at the door to give the bee sting remedy a try my father would give the disclaimer, "I am not a doctor so I can't charge you anything however should you be inclined to leave a donation, I won't object."

Joseph, thank you very much for this charming story about your father. I have read quite a bit about
bee sting treatment. But it sure is good to read first hand that it does indeed work.
