Lehua Honey is also known
as Hawiian Honey
a Remarkable Organic Honey

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lehua_blossoms_hawaii_01.jpg

Lehua honey is a true organic honey better known as Hawaiian honey or Hawaiian Lehua honey. It is truly remarkable and very rare.

Made by honey bees who collect the delicious nectar from fragrant, red blossoms that grow on the Ohia tree 4000 feet high on the northern parts of a volcano named Mauna Kea.

A true organic honey which is amongst the most spreadable kinds of honey there are.

Rich, smooth, light toffee and buttery in both color and texture you can feel yourself melt into honey heaven as you bite into a slice of freshly baked bread or an indulgent muffin at any time of the day spread with this Hawaiian honey.

Interestingly this honey is quite runny and liquid when first harvested but after a couple of weeks or so settles into its buttery texture.

It is also one of those very rare artisanal honey types highly prized.

You will probably open your jar of Hawaiian honey and find it has chewy texture, this is not a problem if you prefer it runny to drizzle over something of your choice for example a bowl of fresh fruit.

Just stand the jar in not too hot water and it will melt back into a runny form.

Absolutely superb for adding to your sweet honey recipes and home-made ice creams and because it isn’t sickly sweet it is a divine addition to your cup of tea or coffee and makes an excellent honey drink.

Simply added to water it acts as a powerful energizer at any time of the day. Lehua honey is a honey Connoisseur’s pure delight and honey lovers dream.

There is a wonderful Hawaiian legend connected to the blossoms from which this nectar is collected, almost Mills and Boon style!

Ohia was in love totally with Lehua and the very jealous Goddess of fire named Pele was very angry when Ohia spurned her advances. She turned him into an ugly tree on the remote volcanic slopes of a large Island of Hawaii.

Unfortunately many other Gods tried to return him to his physical state and sadly failed. They realised their love was true so to reunite them they turned Lehua into a beautiful red blossom to grow on his branches.

They can never now be apart, however, if anyone was to pluck a Lehua flower from Ohia’s branches it is said the sky fills with tears.

Hawaiians consider the tree and blossoms as very sacred believing it symbolises "New Life". As the Lehua blossoms start to grow they are amongst the first plants to grow in new lava flows.

This Lehua honey is quite rare because the blossoms only grow for three months in any one year so grab a jar or two as soon as you can.

It is a pure form of raw organic honey which you will not only enjoy immensely but will also provide you with all the associated benefits of eating honey. Simply divine!
