How to get rid of bees? We have a Problem with honey bees!

by Linda
(Pearce, Az)

We have a problem with honey bees. Ever since we put our pool in and bird bath we have been overwelmed with bees.

What is the best way to get rid of bees? We have no idea where there hive is because we live in the desert.

Would appreciate any help you can give.

I do understand your concern particularly if you have Africanized honey bees causing you a problem.

The bees are probably attracted to your pool and bird bath because they need to drink and you have provided them with the means to do that.

Please do not attempt to seek out or disturb their hive yourself, this could be extremely dangerous. Bees can set up home just about anywhere and could be in your roof, in your walls, or even buried in an underground hive.

If you spot a few flying around in a particular place often this could be where your hive is, try not to disturb them.

It would be best for you to locate a Bee Removal Service who are trained to do the job for you.

I cannot bear the thought of any bees being exterminated however troublesome they can be at times. They are far too important to us and really just go about their daily business as we do.

Try to find a service who are able to remove the hive for you along with the bees who then relocate them rather than destroy them. I have provided you with a couple of companies below who can help you.

Then enjoy your pool and watch the birds in their bath with the knowledge that they too are pollinators. Remember though, it is the bees mainly who pollinate the berries that the birds enjoy eating.

The birds and the bees do us a great service and the last thing we want to do is kill them all off!
