Honey Dips, Honey Mustard Recipes and The Lovely Honey Glaze Recipe

I just love honey dips, they are such a simple way to enhance the flavour of our foods.
Honey mustard recipes, are so versatile and there is no end to the combinations you can make. These dips and glazes have that ability to be both sweet and sour that is so complimentary with meats, fish, salads, vegetables and cakes and desserts. These recipes will have your taste buds tingling just thinking about making them so just wait till you start tasting and eating them. Honey Mustard Recipes
In a blender add:One chopped onion 2 cloves of garlic 1 teaspoon of mustard of your choice (I like wholegrain mustard) 4 tablespoons of honey 6 tablespoons of a good olive oil 6 peeled tomatoes Seasoning of your choice Blend altogether then transfer to a saucepan and cook gently until the onions are soft. Stir frequently to stop any burning and when cool pop back in the blender till a smooth paste has formed. Another Honey Mustard Sauce Recipe3 large onions finely chopped (this serves 4 – 6 people)2 tablespoons of olive oil4 tablespoons of butterA couple of dollops of good dark colored honeyI teaspoon of strong mustard Cook all these ingredients together slowly and gently until the onions have caramelised (look like toffee) then add some chopped capers and salt and pepper. Blend them if you prefer.Brush these honey mustard recipes over any meat, fish or vegetables on the BBQ or before popping in the oven or serve on the side.………mmmm, yum!
Some Honey Dips
These can be savoury or sweet, that’s the beauty of honey, and you can benefit from eating honey in so many delicious ways.
Salsa Honey DipBlend together some chopped red onions, a little grated ginger, some chopped and de-seeded tomatoes (or a can of chopped tomatoes to make life easy) a little olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. Cook these gently until the onions are soft then blend together for a smooth paste. Then……..you know what comes next don’t you! Yes that’s right add some honey! This is delicious as an appetizer for you or your guests. Sesame Honey DipThis is an easy honey dip which makes a tasty lunch for you to just dip some lovely bread in. Blend together some honey, sesame seeds (or paste if you can buy it) some herbs of your choice although mint is nice and add a good squeeze of fresh lemons…..Yum Yum. Some lovely Sweet Honey DipsTry this with fresh strawberries, marshmallows or anything you like to dip. In a bain-marie break up some really good chocolate and melt it gently. Add some honey and cinnamon and pour into a pretty bowl surrounded by whatever your choice of dip is……,it is that simple and of course you can experiment with dozens of different flavours like grated orange zest…..that one is nice. Another sweet honey dip, perhaps a little healthier than the one above (still a little indulgence once in a while……) Try mixing some plain yogurt with grated apple and mashed banana or fresh berries like strawberries, raspberries or blackberries or even all of them. And then add some honey……..delicious! It is nice to experiment with different flavours and textures when making your own honey dips, in fact there is no end to what you can think up, just be inventive in the kitchen and you will blow your loved ones away whilst they enjoy the benefits of eating honey.
Some Really Nice Honey Glazes
This honey glaze can be used as a marinade for meat and fish. Soy Sauce and HoneyBlend together some honey, soy sauce and plum sauce. Coat your meat or fish with this and leave in the fridge for a couple of hours or even overnight. Then pop into the oven and cook in your usual way, however this is great for chicken, fish or ribs on the BBQ.
Sweet Glaze
Simply add some honey with lemon, orange or lime juice and add to some icing sugar. Beat these all together and pour over desserts or cakes such as lemon drizzle cake.
