Honey and Aloe Vera ~ For Skin
When we think “skin” we most often think facial skin and why not, we all want to look beautiful and our faces are more exposed than any other part of our bodies. However, there are other skin complaints such as excema which itch and irritate us to the point of scratching until we bleed.
Not nice and when we take ourselves off to the doctor we are usually prescribed some awful cortisone cream which can be severely damaging to our skin when used over a long period of time. Stop using this cream and back come the flare-ups we tried so desperately to rid ourselves of.
We want some natural ingredients preferably, which are soothing to the skin; that calms the inflammations and gently removes the irritants that are driving us mad. These two wonderful ingredients can safely be used for as long as you wish with no harmful long term effects.

Aloe vera plants are easy to come by but a well established plant with plenty of leaves would be a good investment. Cut a whole leaf from your plant and using a sharp knife cut off the spiky edges on both sides.
You could now just squeeze the aloe vera gel from the leaf or alternatively cut the whole leaf into small chunks. Pop these chunks into a blender with two good spoonfuls of good quality honey. Please be careful to use a good a very good Raw Honey or Manuka Honey. Blend these two ingredients together or if you are just using the gel then simply stir the two together.
Because honey is also a humectant, this means it draws moisture into the skin, something that helps eczema prone skin and relieves the itching fast.
Use this straight away if needed by simply spreading over the infected area and pop the rest in a clean and sterilized container in the fridge until you need to use it again.
