Making Your Own
Homemade Beauty Product

homemade soap

We have all heard of homemade beauty products and did you know that most of these contain honey! The beauty benefits of honey especially honey for our skin is the best way to keep us looking young.

As always we need to use a really good raw or organic honey to enjoy the benefits of honey.

It is fantastic for so many health and medical reasons and the benefits of eating honey help to keep us beautiful on the inside too.

The reason honey works is the hydrogen peroxide and glucose oxidase content which is released in damp conditions.

Honey for skincare is second to none; it is pure with no added artificial chemicals and ingredients. (Tell me your best homemade beauty product below).

It does contain many healing properties such as Propolis which is now used in the beauty industry for all kinds of skin problems such as face creams for spots and even excema.

Lip salves for dry lips and keeping them moist. Honey eye drops for keeping your eyes sparkling and healthy and in hair and bath products such as making your own bath fizzies…….what fun!

However, you can make your own homemade beauty product and enjoy the beauty benefits of honey for your skin to make and keep you more beautiful than you already are.

My page about making your own homemade beauty product has a few tips about the use of honey for the skin, teeth, eyes and hair. However my own expertise is in the health benefits of honey.

Having recently discovered two homemade beauty websites I have included the links for you below.

Please check these out, they are both brilliant websites from which you will learn the benefits of natural skin care and how you can make your very own recipes.

Not only will you benefit personally but you will enjoy making these as beautiful gifts for family and friends.

I just know some of you reading this have amazing tips for your own homemade beauty product. We would love it if you would consider sharing them with us. Please buzz us a few lines, you'll be famous before you know it!

Beauty and Skin Care

For Natural Skin Care

For a superb honey face mask you could just use this neat, plaster it on clean damp skin, lie down and relax for as long as you feel or can!

Then just rinse it off with clean water when you are ready. Your skin will feel softer; your pimples will have started to disappear along with any blackheads because honey for the skin is very healing.

All the natural skin treatments contain honey, why not take a look at my honey beauty page.

Try to use this frequently because it can turn back time….helping your skin stay young and lets face it we all tend to search for the magic ingredient that can do that.

Honey skin care is all you will need. Some people like to add honey with cinnamon; this is also excellent as a homemade beauty product.

And for a superb facial scrub try adding ground almonds or apricot seeds.

The beauty benefits of honey on the skin also include its uses for a cleanser, a facial tonic, a moisturizer and as an eye cream.

Honey skincare is truly amazing. There are no limitations to making your own homemade beauty product as long as you use only natural ingredients.

You just don’t need all those chemicals in most beauty products which can be quite damaging to the skin. Honey beauty is also fantastic for turning back time and those years.

If you suffer with dry, flaky lips honey skincare will heal this for you.

I never think it a good idea to go outside covered in honey for fear of being stung but if you smear this on overnight and rinse off in the morning your problem will be solved.

You could add melted bees wax to this and pop it in a nice little pot with a lid and keep it in the fridge.

In fact if you have any nice little bottles you could even make these honey skincare products and tie a pretty ribbon round them to give as lovely gifts.

Honey Skincare for
Hands and Nails

Honey’s healing properties will soften your hands and cure any nail fungal infections.

I think this is best used overnight, smother your hands and nails with lovely honey and pop on a pair of cotton gloves.

After a few days any nail fungus will be gone and your hands will be so soft and lovely………oh what benefits there are for using honey for skin.

There is a lovely recipe for homemade honey soap below which will help considerably with most beauty benefits of the skin using honey.

Another Homemade Beauty Product
For your Teeth

Honey will not rot your teeth. You can make your own hygienic mouthwash with honey.

Honey kills infections, it does not cause them it is a natural anti-bacterial agent and this will block any oral infections and bacteria.

Superb for sore gums and mouth ulcers. There are many Propolis based toothpastes on the market now but you can make your own.

All you will need is a bottle of fresh spring water, add a dollop of good honey (don’t forget…….raw or organic), some powdered Propolis and a few peppermint drops if you prefer the flavour all though this is not necessary.

This is great for good dental hygiene and can be used on dentures too.

A Further Homemade Beauty Product
Honey for Skin in Homemade Soaps

This soap will not only help to keep your skin beautiful because if you make it in bulk you can again give these as gifts for your loved ones and friends so they may try the beauty benefits of honey.

You will need

  • Some pure soap (try simple soap) start with a couple of bars and grate or blend them until they are fine granules or shavings

  • A little dollop of the best honey you can find and a little Propolis or a Vitamin E capsule

  • A couple of spoonfuls of good olive oil

  • And some melted bees wax
Pop all the ingredients into a bain marie or glass bowl in a deep saucepan full of water.

Heat all together very gently and stir until the water has reduced and the mixture has thickened and everything has blended well together.

You could add a little colouring agent and even some herbs such as lavender or even some fresh rose petals.

Pour the mixture into some moulds, fancy or plain depending on how you would like them to look.

These homemade soaps will need to cool thoroughly which takes several hours and if you then pop them in the freezer for around two hours they will be easier to remove.

Wrap them up in pretty cellophane and tie with a bow if you are giving them as a homemade beauty product as a gift for others to try the beauty benefits of honey.

Another Homemade Beauty Product
This one is for the hair

Don’t forget we have skin on our scalps too and the beauty benefits of honey on the hair will kill off dandruff and scalp infections too.

This is quite simple you can simply rub some honey into the skin on your scalp, wrap in a towel and leave it for as long as you are able. Do this every day until your scalp infection has gone.

Add honey to your shampoo to stop further infections and if you are dark haired add a little with vinegar as a last rinse to condition your hair.

If you are fair haired try adding a little lemon juice, altogether healthier and stronger and shinier hair.

Homemade Beauty Product
For Bath Time fizzies
So much fun with honey for skin

Again for your skin to use all the benefits of honey for skin these bath fizzies are easy to make, wonderful to use and great presents for your friends or loved ones.

You Will Need:

One cup of baking soda mixed with half a cup of citric acid in a large glass bowl.

Add some honey and essential oils for perfume. I like vanilla, rose and jasmine myself.

Have a spray bottle of witch hazel ready and as you mould the mixture spray with this until it feels dough like in consistency.

Sometimes you may have to add a little more baking soda but only if the mixture fizzes too much.

Roll them into balls or press into moulds and leave them to dry out for a couple of days in room temperature.

You will love this homemade beauty product. Watch it explode as you drop it into your bath and then enjoy the beauty benefits of honey on your skin.

These bath fizzies are so easy to make and such fun with the kids. Give them as prettily wrapped gits.

I do hope you found some of these beauty benefits of honey useful……..now go and have fun with your honey for your beauty.

If you have a favourite homemade beauty product to share, please contact me, I'd love to see it and so would my readers.
