Healing Honey

Healing honey and the healing properties of honey are still underestimated and dismissed as some kind of old wives tale.

However, please don't dismiss these tales, medicinal honey is one of the best known benefits of honey its medicinal powers are actual medical marvels.

The power of nature as a whole is remarkable, however we would enjoy very little of this without the honey bee.

Sadly, it is only in recent years the remarkable work they do is again being recognised. Without them we certainly would not have healing, medicinal honey.

The healing properties of honey are still underestimated in some circles although many medical professionals are once again waking up to the realization that honey as a healer needs to be explored further and not just dismissed as some kind of old wives tale.

Healing Honey Uses

Many medical conditions are caused by germs, microbes and bacteria entering our bodies and attacking our immune systems. This also happens when we have an open wound on our skin.

If we cut ourselves for example, we often see an infection form, this is because an open wound is a great breeding ground for many types of bacteria.

Quite often when we don't feel very well, we know we feel ill but cannot see any real physical symptoms.

Our doctors prescribe a course of antibiotics which at times do work; however, we are becoming more and more resistant to these including Penicillin. It is practically impossible to become resistant to honey.

Those who use raw honey as honey by eating it as a regular addition to their diet often experience a feeling of extreme well-being and a feeling that everything is all is right with the world.

These symptoms are quite normal and often are due to the fact that their bodies are working in tangent with the unique contents of medicinal honey. Germs and bacteria cannot grow and multiply in honey and are quite simply destroyed.

Healing Properties of Honey
Work Because They Are

  • Anti-bacterials

  • Anti-virals

  • Are Natural Antibiotics

  • And have Moisture-retaining properties which helps prevent the formation of scarring because scabs do not form over the wound.

Many ancient races have recognised the healing properties of honey as a medicine but it is only in recent years their healing properties have been recognised and accepted by medical professionals.

  • Manuka Honey, who hasn’t heard of this one! This is the one that grabs most people’s attention.

  • Medi Honey, although Manuka based is extensively used for open wounds which are normally antibiotic resistant.

  • Strawberry Tree Honey, extraordinary in taste but considered a very good healing honey due to having all the qualities needed for medicinal purposes.

  • Buckwheat Honey, tastes quite foul to some however, the unique healing properties of this honey have been scientifically proven.

Medical Benefits of ~ Healing Honey

The above list is not by any means exhaustive however, it is interesting to note that due to scientists and researchers who have taken the time to discover what our ancient races always knew, there are known to be many advances made in the many Medical Benefits of Honey today.

Considering MRSA is one of the conditions suppressed by healing honey and thankfully now used successfully in hospitals, (although not enough yet!) It should be ever present in hospital food and operating theatres.

If you are planning a hospital visit, pack a jar of medicinal honey to take with you. Eat it and smear some on your wounds to benefit from the healing properties of honey.

Your chances of a quicker wound recovery are guaranteed, I know because I did myself. Are there any side effects? None.
