The Hahira Honey Bee Festival ~ Sounds Like Fantastic Fun

Helping Children And Having A Good Time Go Together At The Hahira Honey Bee Festival. Hahira, is a town in Southern Georgia. It is twenty-nine miles north of the Georgia, and Florida borderline.

The Hahira Honey Bee festival takes place in Hahira and lasts for one week, wish I could go! It boasts activities such as a dog show, parade, a walk and run, a and beauty pageant.

Booths of arts and crafts, food vendors and entertainment of all kinds are available for the enjoyment of children and grown-ups.

The festival has been held every year since its founding year of 1981. Activities are held throughout the week. The buildup meets a climax on Saturday with lots of activities to delight in.

There is a parade, a dog show, a walk and run, and lots of other entertainment sure to please any attendee.

Honey Events are such Fun!


Arts and crafts are displayed in booths daily throughout the festival. There are vendors selling all sorts of delicious food, such as the decadent funnel cake. Several evenings host a beauty pageant. One evening, there is a gospel sing for those interested.

On Wednesday and Thursday the 6th and 7th they even have a Honey Bee Pageant. This is a sponsored event by the Hahira Lions Club. This Pageant is held at Hahira Middle School cafeteria at 7:30

Saturday is the peak day, with a variety of events that can interest anyone. The parade takes place in the middle of the day. It is known as one of the biggest parades in Georgia. There are thousands known to attend.

A five kilometer run, or walk is also organized for participants and people cheering on the side.



The festival is an event shared by the community at large. There is a children's zone area that makes it a fun place that children can play and jump around. The citizen of the year rides in a float at the parade.

The local queens also share that privilege. Clowns, antique cars, all types of floats, and other exciting things can be seen on the parade route.

Other activities include a dog show, and a kid zone that has inflatables. There are pony rides, and a carousel to enjoy. There is a climbing wall, and lots of entertainment for any individual at the event to enjoy.
