Apple Cider Vinegar and Gout
I read that when you soak bandages in apple cider vinegar and wrap it around sore joints from arthritis and gout that it helps to dissolve crystals.
If true how much vinegar compared to water would you soak bandages in and can you heat it?
Would this help?
Thank you
Jan's ReplyApple cider and vinegar has seen some truly dramatic relief in the symptoms of many forms of arthritis including gout.
Gout is an extremely painful arthritic condition which appears to be more common with men aged 30 to 60 years. It is of course a condition that any one of us can develop and suffer from.
It appears to strike the big toe more than other parts of the body although it is not uncommon to strike other areas of the feet, our knees and even our fingers and elbows.
The pain associated with gout is not pleasant at all; it feels like the affected area is on fire with a searing burning sensation.
At times the area affected can swell and in some there are definite signs of white lumps which are known as urate crystals.
These crystals, although not always visible, form due to a build up of uric acid which somehow becomes trapped in our blood and refuses to pass through normal urination.
This can cause other complications of the kidneys.
If you suspect you may have this painful condition it is extremely important to see your doctor who will be able to detect gout through a simple blood test.
Apple cider vinegar has shown to be very helpful at times during a flare up of gout. Some people like to bathe their feet in a bowl of
tepid water with a few spoonfuls of ACV, some drink two teaspoons 3 times daily in a glass of water with a good dollop of honey.
The honey takes away the bitter taste and also helps with the inflammation that causes the burning sensation.
Others swear that wrapping the affected areas with cloths or bandages soaked in the solution also brings much relief.
Apple cider vinegar is said to work because it dissolves these acid crystals which are the main cause of the condition.
Not any old ACV will work; you must use an excellent brand such as “Bragg” because this contains what they call
"the mother"…..this means it still contains the active enzymes needed for the job it is going to do, in this case relieve the symptoms of your gout.
Most doctors today prescribe a vast array of medication to treat this condition, for many they haven’t worked! ACV can provide you with the relief you are seeking, give it a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Please let us know how you get on.
Warm Regards
